ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ
Δύο λόγια για μένα και τα έργα μου
Τα έργα μου έχουν ανθρωποκεντρικό χαρακτήρα. Παρών η απών( ως θεατής) ο άνθρωπος βρίσκεται στο κέντρο κάθε ‘’ματιάς’’, που αποτυπώνεται στον καμβά. Αναζητώ τρόπους να αποδώσω με χρώματα τον συσχετισμό ανάμεσα στο φως και στον κόσμο. Στόχος είναι η απελευθέρωση αυτού του φωτός για της οικοδόμηση ενός φωτεινού και αισιόδοξου κόσμου.Φιλοδοξία μου η μεταβολή του πιο ασήμαντου σκηνικού σε ζωγραφικό έργο. Πηγή έμπνευσής μου αποτελούν η κίνηση και το έντονο χρώμα του αστικού τοπίου και της καθημερινότητας της πόλης, τα οποία καλύπτονται από το άπλετο ελληνικό φως.Πρόκειται για μια ζωγραφική έντονα χρωματική με δυνατές αρμονίες. Όλοι οι πίνακες είναι ζωγραφισμένοι με το πρωινό φως, που συμβολίζει την ελπίδα και την αισιοδοξία για ένα καινούριο ξεκίνημα.

Στην ζωγραφική δουλειά του Γιάννη Ντάκου ο θεατής ανακαλύπτει με την πρώτη ματιά την αγάπη του καλλιτέχνη για το χρώμα, την κίνηση και το φως. Στα έργα του μπορεί κανείς να ανιχνεύσει τις εντάσεις και τις αντιπαραθέσεις του φωτός, του χρώματος, του χώρου, της πυκνότητας και της διαφάνειας της πινελιάς της συνεχιζόμενης με τους δομοτεχνικούς άξονες της εκάστοτε σύνθεσής της. Τον ενδιαφέρει ο άνθρωπος, η κίνηση και η καθημερινότητα, των πόλεων. Μέσα στο λαβύρινθο των πόλεων και της ανθρώπινης παρουσίας, οι ‘’ήρωες’’ ελάχιστοι και ελαχιστοποιημένοι.
John Dakos was born in Larisa, Greece. He graduated from the Art School in Thessaloniki where he had been taught by Vaggelis Dimitreas.

Some words from me and my work
My work is human-centred. My inspiration is the motion and bright color of the urban scenery and the routine of city life, which are covered by ample Greek light. All my paintings have been painted in daylight, which symbolize hope and optimism for a new beginning.
Yiannis Christakis (art historian)
Seeing the work of John Dakos, the spectator discovers the artist’s love for color, motion and light at a first glance. One can detect the different tensions and contradictions of light, color, space, density. He is interested in man, motion and the routine of city life. The city characters appears small and diminished in the labyrinth of the city and human presence.
